Crazy, tired mom alert

I'm tired.

So, so tired.

My kids are giving me a run for my money. Adam's numbers are off in la-la-land and I'm up for another night of every 2 hour checks.

I guess I did the basal testing too soon...Levemir was still in his system, because for the last 2 nights he's been in the high 100's all night long, waking in the 200's. And high all day. ZOMG. Which comes with major attitude, hyperness, craziness....little dude was in his room many, many times today. I LOVE the pump...just wasn't quite prepared for all the confusing changes, etc. I mean I was, but I just hate the thought of him having all these high BGs and having to suffer while I figure it out. His A1C is going to suck next week at our endo appt.

I'm getting sick, too. Well, I think I'm holding it off okay, but I feel all achy and only feel good when I pop the ibuprofen.

I just got back from walking to the mailbox. Reaallllyyy slooooowwwllly. That was my quiet time for today. My plan of getting up early for my quiet time has been thwarted my my sickness and this basal testing. Maybe next week.

  1. Addison's A1C went UP the first few months of pumping. We had crazy highs for a while because our endo wanted us to make very slow changes...it was awful and hard and I was SO tired. It will get better and easier to understand but it takes time. Don't worry about the A1C..just work on getting your bearings at a pace that makes sense to you. We have been on the pump for 10 months now and I would say it took a good six to get the hang of things!

  3. been on the pump for a year and a half and still trying to get the hang of things!! D management isn't easy in these little ones who keep having growth spurts...the pump helps but WE are still having to figure it all out. There are ALWAYS adjustments! But boy it feels so nice to be able to easily make corrections if the adjustments weren't quite right. You will get a better handle on things so don't stress it (too much) :-)
    Hope you feel better soon!!

  4. Oh Steph! I heart you! You are doing great and keep up the great work. I know those days of fatigue and then getting sick...Actually, me and my hubby are sick right now AND...with "D" in the mix you and I both know we aren't getting the rest we need. You will get the hang of this..and btw, I thing your over night numbers sound pretty damn good!

  5. I hope you're feeling better soon. I hate that we don't get sick days... I've had the crud since Dec. 21 and it doesn't seem to want to go away.

Hope the craziness with the pumping settles down soon too and you find your groove.

  6. Had to laugh at the thought of you walking to the mailbox really slowly. I do things just like that. It's awfully wild and crazy around here and we all need a few moments of peace and quiet now and then. :P

Just wanted to give you a big ol' hug and say keep on going! The pump will get easier once you iron out the kinks. Granted, you'll always be making changes, but these first couple weeks are hard. Don't let it get you down!

  7. Just want to encourage you and let you know that I'll keep you in my prayers.

I HATE dark spells...they seem like they last forever. I hope this one clears soon.
